Why do we have parking restrictions? Why can't we just park on any side of the street?
The parking restrictions prevent abandoned vehicles left parked in the street. The parking ordinance requires that vehicles park on odd-numbered sides of the street on odd days and on even-numbered sides on the even days. The date is determined by the day after midnight. If you are parking your vehicle for the night, and will be the 10th after midnight, then you should park on the side with even house numbers.
